Lively pub opposite Neston Cross in the centre of the historic market town of Neston. Dominated by big screen sport and a very noisy juke box. Real ale is on sale with two of the three handpumps in use. Buy 5 pints of cask, get one free" promotion.

Historic Interest

Claimed to be built originally in 1724 with modern records dating back to at least 1822 as the Bay Horse. Listed in Pigot's Directory in 1828 and in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850 as the Bay Horse. Probably rebuilt in the 1850s with an extension on Brook Street added in 1870. Mentioned in Sulley’s 1889 ‘The Hundred of Wirral’ as one of the 11 fully licensed pubs in Neston. The old photos show the pub in the early 1920s when it was a Peter Walker pub.
