Bought by J W Lees, then closed and refurbished, this pub reopened on 21st June 2013. The pub had a further investment of £600,000 in August 2026, opening up the space and expanding the bar area. There are six hand pumps pouring JW Lees core real ales, including Bitter and MPA, alongside a changing line-up of seasonals and small-batch cask ale brews from The Boilerhouse microbrewery, located near the main brewhouse at JW Lees Greengate Brewery.
