Historic farmers country pub near to the beginnging of the Tennyson trail.  Superb panoramic Solent views and ample kiddies play area.  The pub is known locally as the Betty Haunt taking it name from Betty Haunt Lane where a local lasss is rumoured to have lost her life for telling tales to excise men but not wishing to spoil a good story, it actually means between hunts and the pub is reputably haunted.   Excellent menu and specials board and a big welcome for families. Good childrens facilities. Recently aquired (2017) by Rob and Rachet Burrows who previously ran the the hugely popular and regular Good Beer Guide entry, the Pointer, Newchurch. Only two beer available in the winter
