Community-owned pub close to the entrance to Newby Hall. Formerly a Jennings tied house, in 2019 this pub was sold by Marston’s to Admiral Taverns who immediately closed and tinned up the pub leaving it to dilapidate, however eventually putting it up for sale. Following a long and successful fund-raising campaign the local community were able to raise enough money to qualify for Government grants enabling them to purchase the pub from the pubco in 2024. The pub was completely refurbished by local volunteers and re-opened in November 2025. Three local cask ales are served.
A café operates from the pub Wednesday to Sunday 10am-2pm.
Awaiting new survey.
