The pub reopened under new management in July 2017 and a comprehensive refurbishment programme is still ongoing at the former coaching inn which dates back to 1839. A large multi roomed building, on the main road between Spennymoor & Durham, the pub is home to a local over 40s football team. Sells food as Pitman’s Grill Restaurant.
