Formerly part of the small Crerar Hotels group, which was bought out in March, 2023 by Blantyre Capital and Fairtree Hotels. The Crerar group spent £2m over 2 years refurbishing the hotel's rooms and the business is now being marketed as a 5-star hotel.

The ethos of the business is to source as locally as possible and the ales are sourced from Scottish breweries.
