Small back street locals pub with an open plan layout around a central bar. The main area has a pool table and dartboard at the rear. The lounge section has comfy furnished bench seating and there are 3 large screen TVs in the pub. There is a foreign satellite sports service, so brush up on your languages if you want to understand the commentators. Sadly No real ale

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
