Website

Superb rural pub. Very popular with cyclists, local ramblers and tourists. It is on Coast to Coast (C2C) cycle route. Good bar meals at a decent price. 18th century multi room building, public bar with log fire, games room and dining room. Originally the home of Sir Thomas Wentworth. The premises are bedecked with memorabilia and knick knacks from a bygone age. Take care (and skis) in the Winter! Will open early if asked for coach parties, rambling groups etc. Closes Monday and Tuesday in winter.

Currently meals only available for residents. From 18.10.21 opens 1700 Mon-Fri and 1400 Sat/Sun for winter. May only have two beers on in winter.
