Opposite the railway station, this St. Anne's Brewery owned establishment has several handpumps but only two or three are likely to be in use at any one time, and St. Annes's own distinctive beers are often unavailable. Music may be loud.

The two level former interior has gone with the pub now consisting of one large room with a modern contemporary feel. The bar has moved from the rear of the pub to the right hand side.

Has been extended into the premises next door which contains a pool table.

Note that closing times vary depending on custom.

It seems that St. Annes are not brewing as of June 2025 but are intending to start again, but when is not known.

Historic Interest

In its early days the Albion was acquired by the Wrexham Brewery, before being an Ansells pub for many years. The pub sign is now a relic of the past. Burtonwood bought the pub when Ansells sold off their estate, then in 2005 Burtonwood stopped brewing and sold their pub estate to Marston's. One of the 15 pubs in the Branch area appearing in the 1974 Good Beer Guide (GBG). It was brief but here's what it said! "Ansells, Small friendly pub". It then threatened to become a GBG regular with several appearances at the end of that decade but has only appeared once since (in 1995).
