Bar with keg beers and cider, wine, spirits and cocktails. From 2022-2025 the premises were Sushizen restaurant. Parched was set up by converting the premises to a bar with the help of a crowdfunding campaign.

Colin and Katie originally arrived in Newbury with their dog Dave to run the nearby Globe Inn (Star Pubs). Wishing to remain in Newbury, since October 2025 they are now running Parched as an independent bar with freedom to source beer and cider from favoured small independent breweries etc..

From the taps at the back of the bar, one cider and eleven beers are served with details on a board behind the bar. Measures are 1/3 pint, 1/2 pint or 2/3 pint.

Tables are industrial style. A long cushioned bench seat runs the length of the front window. There is an exposed brick wall near the front window facing the entrance. The bar is set further back into the room.

The bar will feature a quiz and live music.

There are plans to open a courtyard area at the rear.
