Large pub with a traditional interior, located on corner of busy junction about a mile from Seaburn sea front.

The original, dating from app 1801 was destroyed and rebuilt in 1887, then replaced by the current structure in the 1930's.

Six handpulls offer a range of 5 guest ales, mainly from local breweries and Old Rosie cider. Wooden paddles are available for drinkers wishing to have thirds. Food is served all day including themed evenings. Note the large information board in the entrance detailing special meal deals and forthcoming TV games. There is a large function room upstairs.

As well as participating in the CAMRA voucher scheme, ask about their loyalty card scheme.

The pub also has a 10% price reduction for SAFC season ticket holders on match days upon production of season ticket card

There are frequent buses to Sunderland City Centre nearby ; Seaburn Metro Station is about 5 minutes walk.
