The Alum Ale House is situated on the south bank of the River Tyne, adjacent to the Ferry Landing and close to the Market Place. The open-plan bar, with up to seven cask and two fresh ales. The venue for a lively Irish music session on the first Sunday of the month. and a cheese and Wine afternoon on the first Tuesday of the month. Note the large blackboard detailing beers available, style strength and price. There is decking and seating outside overlooks the river. Note no children allowed inside the pub. Food is limited to toasties and bar snacks.
