The bar area has original oak beams and a flagstone floor, with two seating areas at either end.Outdoor drinking can be enjoyed in the terraced garden set on three levels. Charity pub quiz last Thursday of the month and Friday night "Play Your Cards Right", Most major sporting events televised across five large television screens, one being outdoors in the smoking area Currently a happy hour runs on Mon-Thur 2pm-7pm with 50p off per pint.

Pub is on the old Watford Road, which runs parallel to the A405 dual carriageway near JCT 6 of the M1. Bus stop also right outside the pub served by three routes. Bricket Wood train station 3/4 mile away.

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
