A former Ind Coope Friary Meux branded pub, a small amount of wood carving from what seems to be the interior's original decor survives on one end of the glass gantry. The present pub replaced the earlier 17th century one which stood in front of it in the 1930s. Free pool can be played on Monday. Food includes some Portugese dishes alongside traditional British fare. There are often barbecues on summer Sundays.
