Pub & Indian Restaurant.
Overlooking Earlswood Common, this is a one bar pub, with the L-shaped bar leading to a separate domed and rounded restaurant. Normally two cask beers are available. This used to be a Friary Meux pub called The Railway Inn (colloquially ‘The Knob’). In 1987 it became known as The Albatross and during the 1990s was for a while a Shepherd Neame pub. Evidence of the latter’s ownership can be seen by the lanterns outside the pub. It became a British-European pub restaurant in 2001 and has been under current management since 2023 specialising in very good quality Keralan cuisine. The front part of the building still operates as a local pub rather than a restaurant waiting room.
