The pub has been awarded local CAMRA Pub of the Year for the last two years. The three ever-changing cask ales are from independent breweries and usually include a dark beer. Four real ciders and a real perry are also available. A beer festival takes place over the Easter weekend.

Historic Interest

This Grade II listed Victorian pub, situated on the corner of Leesland Road and Whitworth Road, is on the site of Leesland Junction on the Fareham to Gosport branch railway line which closed in 1953. Old photographs of the railway can be seen on the walls in various places around the pub. The disused line is now used partly as a dedicated bus route and a cycle track/ footpath.
