Traditional welcoming village local in rural (not ex-mining village) Its hidden away but easily accessible from A19 and by public transport - see detail.

For walkers, It could be visited as part of an approximate 10 mile circular walk taking in other nearby pubs such as the Castle Eden Inn at Castle Eden, the White Hart and Raby Arms at Hart and the Tall Ships on the outskirts of Hartlepool, a mile South of Hart village. Depending on where the walk is started, it could take in Castle Eden Dene, the Hart to Haswell railway path and the Durham Heritage Coast.
