The Middle House, as it is known, is a family-run, one-room locals' pub with interesting photographs of Marske through the ages around the walls, represents a 1960s time warp.
Now in its 15th year in the Good Beer Guide.
It serves five regular beers, (three in winter), plus a guest beer from a free standing mahogany island bar, which is a rarity in this area.
There is no TV, no jukebox, no pool table, no children/teenagers - just the locals indulging in convivial conversation.
Occasional live music.
There is no catering either as such, but tea and coffee are available, while cheese and biscuits are available on Sunday lunchtimes.
It has a pleasant south-facing outdoor drinking area.
A recent CAMRA local branch Winter Pub of the Season.
