This Pub is Permanently Closed

This historic rugby club closed in 2024, after a new club facility called "Underhill Hub", including a café and small bar, opened at the sports playing fields at Underhill Park at the top of Newton Road, Mumbles. The building is being converted to a health clinic and gym.

A planning application to convert the premises to a health clinic and gym were submitted to Swansea City Council on Thu 05 Sep 2024 (notice pictured above) and approved on Wed 15 Jan 2025:- 2024/1695/FUL | Change of use of former rugby club (Class A3) to health/therapy clinic and gym (Class D1/D2) | Mumbles Rugby Club 588 Mumbles Road Mumbles Swansea SA3 4DL

***** Original club description:-

This popular club, established in 1887 and located on the Mumbles seafront, is also open to the general public. The clubhouse, which had undergone a major rebranding in 2017, is decorated inside with a wide range of rugby memorabilia. It has a small but comfortable downstairs bar; and a large public bar/function room upstairs, which gets lively on international days, and is frequently used by a range of local groups and societies. Usually two real ales are available, with a third added on busy times.
