Oldest building in Andover saved when the town centre was redeveloped. A timber-framed courtyard inn built by Winchester College 1445–55 with some later modifications but remarkably intact. It is one of Hampshire's oldest inns and is Grade II* Listed. Note also the coaching light window.
There are two bars; the upper was once used as a Court.
A pleasant small patio is at rear as well as the sheltered and decorated courtyard at the front which recalls its history as a coaching inn on the Trafalgar Way
