[January 2016 Description:] The Plough and Barleycorn (name changed recently from ''Pig and Whistle'') is located just 5 minutes ramble up the hill from Shanklin promenade and at the end of the beautiful cliff top coastal walk. After 4 months of building work, the new owner will put back what the pub has needed for the past 10 years, stability. Real ale growth will be increased as required as new lines allow 6 independent ales to be sold. The pub will flourish during the summer but will have built a solid local fan base by then.

An October 2024 report said ten keg lines and three handpumps, though only 2 were in use at the time of visit.
