A very popular village pub just outside Leicester, in the conservation area of the historic village of Glenfield. It has a good, welcoming atmosphere despite being very busy at times. Modern British food is available in the busy, upmarket restaurant (on two levels), or the bar. It has an extensive menu. Two guest beers are available with a changing cider. Quiz night is on Sunday. A charity music festival is held in May. The pub has launched a "bring back jugs" campaign, which continues to be well-received. Drinking areas inside are limited, but it has extensive outside drinking areas, some covered, and in fine weather it can be very busy, at which times the car park can be inadequate. During such periods, a pizza oven is operated from a shack outside.
