Compact, homely, single bar country inn, offering a cheerful, traditional atmosphere with a focus on excellent food. Set in the rural outskirts of Bollington, this listed building was originally built as a weaver's cottage in the 17th century and is reputedly haunted by the friendly ghost of a young girl in a mop cap. There are three cask ales on the bar.

One of the charms of the Lord Clyde is its (small) size which means it's probably worthwhile booking a table. The regular menu can be found on Facebook.

Nearby is the Middlewood Way (bridge 3) which runs from Macclesfield to Marple along the old railway track. This, along with the adjacent Macclesfield canal (bridge 29), makes the Lord Clyde an ideal stop off point. Passed by the 391 bus route, it's a short walk from the nearby B5090 served by the number 10 Macclesfield to Bollington bus . Ask the driver to let you know when to get off for Clarke Lane.
