Formerly the Pestle & Mortar, this town-centre pub, with its mock-Jacobean exterior, is well served by buses and just a short walk from the railway station. It has a large main bar plus a spacious upstairs function room. An uncovered courtyard at the rear is provided for smokers, as well as cafe style tables to the front. The pub can be lively at weekends when local bands are hosted.
