Re-opened April 2025 after a period of closure, with Wez Birch at the helm (also runs the Ship Inn at Brimscombe). Wez has completed a refurb of the pub and opened initially for wet sales whilst the kitchen refurb was completed. The Old Neighbourhood is now the finished article and food is served.
Superb village inn well worth seeking out. Very welcoming. A host of features including open fireplaces, oak flooring and pine furniture. Large patio with good views across the Frome valley.
Entering the pub from the front you are faced with a long bar sporting 4 hand pulls.
To the left of this there is a long room with rustic wooden floor containing a range of different table/seating options. There are a couple of window seats which are bathed in light in summer looking out to the Southerly aspect. A real fire affords a cosy feel in winter. The toilets may be found up a step to the rear of this area.
To the right you move into the Restaurant area which is fairly large having once been more than one room There are two smaller segregated areas to the rear of the restaurant.
Outside the gently sloping garden is terraced and gravel covered with a good number of picnic benches for alfresco drinking/dining. Also provided is a food prep area presumably for outside catering options.
Opening and food times correct as of 27/11/2025.
