In comparison to its neighbours, the building appears small, yet inside it tells a different story. The stylish interior is divided into three distinct areas - a compact 'snug' to the left; a far larger lounge drinking area, 'hearth' is to the right; finally to the rear is 'sun', this is, in effect, a large, well-lit dining area. It is hoped that each of the areas reflect their individual character, but there are also other, smaller, cosy nooks spread about to enjoy. A variety of handpumped ales adorn the bar along with ten taps in addition. The food menu consists of small plates, sandwiches, burgers, large plates, desserts and kids’ meals. Sunday roasts from noon. This place began life as a former restaurant on Didsbury Green, converted to pub-use in late 2008. Various incarnations and owners ensued over the years. It occupies a Grade ll listed building and is one of the area's great character buildings being amongst the oldest in the original centre of Didsbury.
Why the 'Wild Alderman' you may ask? This is a nod to history and a reference to the nearby gardens named after Alderman Fletcher Moss.
