Single room pub popular with local community. As the name suggests was a bank in its previous life. At the Aigburth Vale junction, close to the entrance to Sefton Park and its lake. Planning regulations prohibit external signs. The guest beer is often delivered directly by smaller breweries. Good selection of German bottled beers

Conversion

Built c.1900 as a branch of the Bank of Liverpool, taken over by Martins Bank in 1918, bought by Barclays in 1969 and closed as a bank in 1999. It became a restaurant before opening as a pub in 2012. It is an imposing corner building with a cupola and inside there is one large area with a raised, gallery-like section. The bar has quality fittings, there is old panelling on one wall, stained glass, a grand ceiling with chandeliers and fine marbled columns, an overall scheme that lets the old decor speak for itself. The pub is Grade II-listed.
