Music venue, club and bar in the city centre. The beer garden is one of the city centre's hidden highlights with the trademark hanging lights. In summer, the garden features regular acoustic sessions, art events and barbecues.

Historic Interest

The Bodega is an Edwardian building, built in 1902 on the site of an earlier pub, the Durham Ox, which had been famous for its musical performances. The pub has undergone several name changes before reverting to Bodega, including Cairo's, Rosie O'Briens, the Pump House and the Social (Whitworth 2010). Note the unusual facade with date stone and the two sculptured shields bearing the name Bodega.

More recent performers at the Bodega include Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Duffy, Florence & the Machine, Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks, The Libertines, Mumford & Sons, Noah & the Whale, Scissor Sisters, Snow Patrol, Supergrass and Rusty Shackle.

The Bodega is in Nottingham City Council's Lace Market Conservation Area.

The Bodega has an entry on Nottingham Local Heritage List HA346 (Formerly on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Heritage List (09 December 2013).

As at November 2017, the Freehold for the Bodega (NT329505) was held by DHP Family Limited [Reg. No. 259388].
