This popular Victorian pub lies in the shadow of the defunct Kimberley Brewery buildings. Beers may come from the Greene King portfolio but guests regularly appear, including local beers. This multi-roomed pub has plenty of seating throughout and is renowned for its quality food and accommodation, with 11 rooms available. There are attractive gardens at the front and rear, plus ample car parking at the rear

The Nelson & Railway is located in Broxtowe Borough Council's Kimberley Conservation Area.The Nelson & Railway is an Asset of Community Value, registered on the 3rd November 2015 and nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA.The Nelson & Railway derives its name from the original full title "The Lord Nelson, Railway Hotel" which dates to a time when the pub was between the stations of two competing railway companies (www.nelsonandrailway.co.uk). Both station buildings, may still be seen and the area is of great interest to enthusiasts of both rail and Victorian history. As at November 2017, the freehold for the Nelson & Railway (NT430963) was held by Greene King Brewing & Retailing Limited (Reg.
