Larks Nest, Nuthall

A post war estate pub, formerly a Hardys & Hansons tied house." opened May 1957, PS/B/62/10 Application for licence published 19 February 1957. This was formerly an off-licence, which was converted to a pub. The shop and kitchen were incorporated into the lounge – a fireplace remains between the lounge and the servery, and lavatories and an entrance hall were added to the left, a servery and case store to the right and the public bar at the back. The first floor was extended to the left and by an extra room to the rear. A small beer cellar was added under the case store. A simple interior, it survives save that the extension to the servery separating the lounge and public has been removed – they are still separate rooms but there is a ‘window’ connecting them.
