Located just off Mansfield Road, this pub is a little larger than the name suggests. The long bar is situated on the right. An large outdoor paved patio area is to the left.

Historic Interest

A 1930s Art Deco building. According to a plaque on the wall, the original pub that stood on this site dated from 1860, and was said to have a capacity of 11 people. Possibly urban myth or marketing, as late 19th century trade directories don't seem to show a pub of that name and location. There may also be some confusion with the Duke of St. Albans at 28 North Sherwood Street, a Rock Ales pub demolished in 1963 which did have the reputation of being Nottingham's smallest public house.

Asset of Community Value registered 9th March 2016, nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA.

The Hole in the Wall has an entry on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Heritage list (09 December 2013).
