Red Lion, Newbridge

Description from 2021 (but see footnote):

Friendly roadside pub with two sections at the front and a rear room. It's a cosy nook with pictures around the walls. It can get busy at weekends especially during Six Nations matches. The single handpump dispenses a guest ale which changes regularly and is usually sourced from local breweries. The northbound bus stop (to Blackwood) is just below the pub, the southbound is almost opposite.

Sadly the pub closed in 2021 and and plans approved to convert downstairs premises into two flats - application 21/1079/COU - 'Change of use of the Red Lion public house to residential, to form 3 No. flats'. This was approved 12 Jan 2022.

However, we have had reports that this planning was not enacted and the pub reopened. We haven't found out much more, the phone number and opening times here come from Google but could refer another Red Lion.
