Closed during January 2017. Temporary Permission for 2 years for change of use of the upper floors to a house in multiple occupation (HMO) for 15 persons refused Jul 2017.

New application for 61 flats refused in June 2021. Appeal granted.

1930s pub,ex Watney,it had been a Greene King pub since 1996. Was a Hungry Horse until 2011, but was then brightly modernised into a MEET&GREET, serving a chain-style menu. GK shortened the name of the pub to merely THE CART.
