This Pub is Closed Long Term

A focal point for the village of Islip, the birthplace of Edward the Confessor. 'Time Team' once dug up the car park looking for the remains of a chapel connected with him. Has its own skittle alley and an Aunt Sally team. Nice garden with play equipment. School bus service only after July 2016 but it's good walking and cycling country and there is a station with a regular but infrequent service - about 8 a day but last one quite late. Or it's a 2 mile walk from Kidlington. Numerous attempts to run as a pub have failed and is up for sale. Floods regularly.

Historic Interest

Grade II listed. C17 altered C18.
