Kenton, Homerton (Kenton Arms)

Local listing:- Two-storey five-sided Victorian public house at the junction of Kenton Road and Bentham Road. Whole ground floor is painted grey with stone columns interspersed by half-height windows with brackets supporting square lights on either side of all three doors. Above ground floor is a panel below a protruding cornice all coloured grey. First floor windows on the main facade has two narrow windows flanking a wider middle window. Above the wider window is a white shell shape with a protruding white key stone decorated with flowers. Above each of the two narrower windows is a protruding white square block decorated with a flower and on each side of all 3 windows is a white festoon of flowers. Windows and corners of the building are painted grey. First floor windows on either side of the main facade also have a white shell shape with a protruding white key stone decorated with flowers and on either side is a white flower decoration. Above the first story windows is a grey coloured freize of flowers and above that a protruding grey coloured cornice and above that a wide panel running round the road-facing facades with the words Kenton Arms indented in capitals. Above the main facade is a raised Dutch style semi-circular pediment flanked by low rounded filials all grey coloured. At the top of the semi circle is a larger rounde filial also painted grey. Inside the semi circle is a shield with the Kenton coat of arms and on either side of the shield are rounded horizontal flower festoons. Attached to the Kenton Road first floor facade is a pole from which hangs the pub sign
