This Pub is Closed Long Term

Former M&B, then Punch pub just out of the town centre, which since 2011 has been owned by a two members of the building trade. The sole real ale was stopped within a few months and custom at the pub has diminished. Closed around March 2015 and planning permission was sought for demolition and replacement with housing; this was withdrawn and replaced with an application for conversion to three dwellings when the conservation officer objected to the loss of the locally-listed building. Permission was granted in November 2015.
