Having closed in January 2020 this pub happily reopened in May 2021 as a community pub wholly owned by a group of shareholders following a successful campaign. National Cycle Route 41 runs within 0.3 km of this friendly village pub which welcomes cyclists and walkers as well as local people. Regular beers are from North Cotswold / Shakespeare & Church End, with guests often from Slaughterhouse, Hook Norton & Timothy Taylor.

In April 2019 the pub was offered for sale and a group of volunteers started a campaign to buy the pub for the community. The share scheme raised over £270,000 from 223 investors, and with loan and grant support from the Plunkett Foundation the pub was purchased by the Loxley Community Benefit Society on the 1st September 2020. Volunteers refurbished the pubs and the pub reopened in May 2021.
