Cask Ale not available

A popular local Arts Centre in a former junior school. Although they are open during the day, term time only, for a variety of classes, the bar is only open in the evenings. There is an up to date website and Facebook page, where you can easily find listings of the various music, comedy and theatre nights.

The bar is open to everyone on most evenings, Monday - Saturday. However, if there are standing events on in the main hall, or the venue is booked for a private function, then general public will not be admitted. On these occasions, where there are ticket checks on the front door for fire safety reasons, only ticket holders are admitted to the premises.

Sadly cask beer is no longer available, but the predictable draught selection is supplemented by a reasonable selection of canned and bottled beers on the shelf (or in the fridge if you prefer) many of them from breweries local to the venue.

The venue holds a well supported beer festival in early January (get your tickets in advance) and a music festival, Westival, in the summer.

Mobility Access Statement Mobility Access Statement
Awarded Bronze status by Attitude is Everything to recognise the high level of provision for disabled people throughout the West End Centre. Assistance dogs are welcome, as long as they are clearly identifiable. Some music events are standing only. Customers with access requirements or those who have difficulty standing for long periods should inform the Box Office in advance of the event. The Duty Manager of the event will do everything possible to ensure a comfortable viewing position is provided. We regret that, given the nature of the space, we cannot always guarantee a seated position will give a reasonable view of the performance as we have a limited number of seats available at the back of the space. It is not possible to place freestanding stools or seats at the front of the auditorium due to restrictions set out in our licence. We have one wheelchair that can be requested on a first-come, first-served basis on the understanding that a companion will assist you in the event of an evacuation. Special effects such as haze and strobe lighting are frequently used during performances. Please do contact us if you have any concerns or queries. Unreserved Seating events utilise individual chairs (seat width 455mm, no armrests) which can be freely arranged to provide as much legroom and space between seats as required. Reserved Seating for Theatre shows is raked with seats in fixed unmoveable arrangement (seat width 440mm, armrests cannot be removed). Our seats can accommodate up to 190kg. We have a car park to the rear of the venue with 2 dedicated disabled parking spaces near the rear entrance, which has ramp access to the building. A drop off point is available directly outside the front entrance. There is both an audio and visual emergency alarm in the theatre. The West End Centre is equipped with an induction loop in the box office. In the theatre, an induction loop can be used. Please ask a member of staff and switch your hearing aid to ‘T’ for the duration of the performance. If you are having difficulty with the reception, please inform a Steward or Technician and they’ll try to improve the sound. The fire alarm is equipped with a flashing beacon to aid you should evacuation be necessary. Large print running times are available, please ask at the box office. Large-print bar prices are available from the bar and box office. Large print publicity material can be provided if required: please contact the Box Office and they will be happy to help. The West End Centre has flat access to all main spaces and accessible WC facilities. For seated events, a limited number of wheelchair spaces are available, but advance notification must be given. If you would prefer to sit in a theatre seat rather than your wheelchair, staff will be pleased to help you. Like all customers, wheelchair users are urged to book in advance as all spaces held for wheelchair users are released onto general sale once all other seats are sold.
Parking Parking
There is limited free parking on site. The car park is managed by a member of the British Parking Association (BPA) using a camera-based system with number plate recognition. The car park is free of charge for users of the venue, you need to register your car at the box office desk. If you do not register your car, you will be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
