Popular suburban roadhouse on a busy roundabout out of Rotherham. Though food is not generally available, homemade sandwiches sometimes are. Enquire at the bar. Originally a coaching house on the road from Rotherham to Bawtry. Used by the local Home Guard in World War Two. Refurbished in March 2017, opening up the lounge and tap room as one complete room with a conservatory area leading to an extensive garden area on two levels. Up to four changing guest beers from local and national breweries feature. Popular for TV Sport with several TV screens. General Knowledge Quiz on Monday evenings, Karaoke with a music quiz on Thursday evenings and live music or a DJ features most Friday or Saturday evenings. Local CAMRA branch Most improved Pub in 2018. Reopened under new management as Craft Union branded pub, following a refurbishment, on September 26th, 2025.

Historic Interest

Former coaching inn on a main turnpike between Rotherham and Bawtry. It was rebuilt to the design of James Edward Knight (1867-1930) in the 1920's. He also designed the former White Hart Hotel in the town centre, opened in 1929. Rear building was used by the local homeguard in WW2.
