High Street, Abington Pigotts, SG8 0SD (View on Google Map)

Located in a surprisingly remote part of the south Cambridgeshire countryside, this Queen Anne period pub offers a warm welcome. The interior has exposed oak beams, with two fires, including a large inglenook featuring a wood-burning stove. A comfortable restaurant offers home-made traditional pub food and specialises in fresh fish and chips, and homemade steak and kidney puddings and pies. Up to Two guest beers are stocked, often including beers from Mighty Oak, Timothy Taylor or Woodforde's.

Awards
Branch Pub of the Year 2012.

Historic Interest

Built as a Dower House to the local manor in 1701, in 1890 it became an ale house called the Darby & Joan, named after the local plough horses. It was fully licensed in the 1960s.
