Country village inn.

A pleasant country inn under the imposing Bishop Hill, on the A911 between Kinross and Glenrothes, now run by landlady Lynne. The village and pub take their name from the impressive canopied village well. Close to Loch Leven heritage trail, Portmoak Moss and Kilmagadwood, so popular with cyclists and walkers.

Bed & breakfast accommodation is provided in chalets adjacent to the inn. The bar features cask ale normally from Stewart Brewing; 2 handpulls with one pouring, and another ale always tapped to follow; impressive fire in the winter - now runs on environmental biofuel gas.

Historic Interest

300-year-old inn at the heart of a medieval village famed for its waters taken by Robert the Bruce. The ornamental well and wash house nearby were built as part of a general village improvement scheme carried out between 1857 and 1860 by Thomas Bruce of Arnot, undoubtedly a descendant of the famous king.
