Once again open after an 18 month closure. It is an ancient coaching inn with records dating to 1250 AD and described as a 13th century monks retreat. The monks on their pilgrimage from Valle Crucis Abbey would visit the site and it is thought that they would stop to feed the lepers who lived on Minera mountain in the caves, through the mullion window in the wall of the pub. The oldest part of the pub is the stone flagged porch entrance. Outside is an extensive seating area that affords great views of the Esclusham Mountain.
