Located opposite the village green of this historic village famous for its mill and the preserved station of Hadlow Road, the Nags Head is a friendly village local at the heart of the community. Refurbished extensively in 2011, it has areas appealing to different tastes with warm relaxing surroundings and real fires in winter. Popular with locals, tourists and walkers from the nearby Wirral Country Park footpath. Good food available all day ranges from light bites to full meals.

Historic Interest

The building dates back to 1733 and was the White Horse in 1822 but changed its name to the Nag's Head by 1850 when it was listed under that name in Bagshaw's Directory. The old photo is from about 1890. A Birkenhead Brewery pub which underwent major structural alterations between 1910 and the early 1930s. Described in 1980 as a large crowded pub selling Whitbread Special Cask Bitter by handpump.
