Busy two-room community pub whose name pays homage to the town's long-gone hatting industry. Bass has been served in here for as long as anyone can remember. There's a bar to the front and a generally quieter lounge to the rear which leads onto a pleasant beer terrace with plenty of tables. Wide screen TVs show various sports.
