The former White Hart became the acclaimed Backstreet Bistro in 2004 but returned to being a pub on 23rd February 2017. As the Petersfield it became the fifth City Pub Company premises in Cambridge. That number has risen since.

The entrance leads into a large L-shaped main bar, decorated in a fairly traditional manner with modern touches. There is also a more intimate smaller room behind the bar. There are five handpumps which feature beers from Barsham, Nene Valley, Adnam's and sometimes one from Cambridge Brewing Company based in sister pub the Cambridge Brew House.

Food offers include Tuesday evening Moo & Brews. Burgers from Burton's of Saffron Walden with a flight of local beers.

The terrace outside has separate non-smoking and smoking areas.
