Having closed in 2024 the pub was reopened in late 2025 by Sónia Cardante who used to work there. She is partnering with Simon Kevan who is passionate about "beer, music, food, fashion, and fun".

At date of this entry the kitchen is due to reopen by mid-2026. It has also been reported that the handpump has been removed.

Historic Interest

Built by Charles Frederick Phelps and opened in 1871. The pub retains its original openings which would each have accessed a different social class of bar; it is described as architecturally important by the Council.
