Tucked away in the middle of the common but only a few minutes walk from the busy town centre. It is very popular with diners but drinkers are well catered for around the bar area, the quirky cave and the tranquil garden with views across the beautiful common and town. Three guest beers are sourced from Sussex and Kent breweries and rarely-seen brews in the area are likely to be found. Earls Reserve cider from Charrington's is also sold. Six boutique letting rooms are available. Very comfortable and private rooms for hire upstairs. Regular quizzes held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.

Wheelchair and step free access via side patio area into the rear conservatory. From the conservatory there are three steps with a hand rail up to the bar and further on to the toilets which are not fully accessible. Door entrance and corridor to the bar via the 'cave' is narrow.
