Built around 1861 this small beeerhouse had just one room open to the public and remained unaltered until 1895. Ownership had changed in 1893 when it was purchased by local man Alfred Hargreaves who set about improving it. In 1896 stables and a brewery was built to the rear to enable it to brew its own beer. Further alterations would see the creation of a second room from a private room and used as a mixed room. In 1936 the pub was purchased by Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries, who having no need for the brewery in 1938 converted it to new toilets and store room. In the 1980’s the two rooms were knocked in to one. Food is from a barbecue in the back room (every day except Tuesday). Now privately owned, the pub currently has plans granted to build an extension at the rear of the pub to create an assembly room.
