As of June 2026, operating as a pub/chinese takeaway combo. There is a bar with seating to the left and as you enter a desk in front for ordering Chinese takeaway. There is a generous table and seating area to the right. No cask ale

Historic Interest

A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 01 Oct in 1856 states that The Bear Inn, Beyton was to be sold in October. Building was rebuilt in 1900 after the original thatched pub burnt down in a July thunderstorm. A contemporary account of which is framed in the bar. The Bear was been run by the same family from 1922 to 2015. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found here
