A picturesque Elizabethan thatched pub nestling in among a couch of thatched cottages. With four, constantly rotating, well-kept and very reasonably priced beers (all at one price) The Affleck Arms has a welcoming atmosphere that encourages conversation. A rear garden patio and a front garden on the river Kennet also provide space for outdoor drinking on sunny days. Open all day on bank holidays. The landlord operates a token system for purchasing the beers, which if bought in a batch of ten offers a further discount on the already competitive pricing.

Historic Interest

In 1968, Dalham suffered flooding so severe that the level of the River Kennett rose as high as the pub's bar. The landlord had to be rescued from upstairs. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolk.camra.org.uk/pub/228
